What is Ortho-Bionomy®?
It is a holistic, non-invasive, neurological and structural based body work therapy that can help issues related to trauma, pain and dis-ease. It is deeply rooted in Osteopathy, Homeopathy, and Martial Arts. It is a modality that works with the nervous system, and the bodies' innate intelligence to support and bring function to all Systems as a Whole. It's a principal based work that focuses on right relationship and creating connection, both physical and energetic to help the body naturally self-correct by reflexively healing from within. It doesn’t use forceful movements or techniques causing pain or discomfort, but instead works with the body’s preferred positioning starting and ending with comfort and ease. It is a very deep conversation of listening in the body to help calm the system so it can heal.

What to expect in a therapy session?
Find Mind, Body, Spirit connection, pain relief, and De-stress from your busy overworked life. Calm down, rest and relax during your 60 minute therapy session, and find time for you to heal. You may experience reorganization and realignment at the deepest level. Proprioceptively you may feel a change, while your sensory may be enhanced through self-corrective reflexive techniques and structural positioning. Feel free to ask questions before and after your session.
It is a fully clothed body work, please arrive in comfortable clothing. We start and end with comfort not force, and focus on moving towards softening, function, and ease. Each session is unique and authentic to the person on the table and is tailored to what that body needs, staying in range of motion and position of comfort. There is no protocol or agenda and is primarily focused on helping the body find self-recognition, choice, and health. It doesn’t over ride the system, and is about finding position of comfort. It works with specific patterns and rhythms in the body through gentle compression, and neuromuscular re-education to facilitate change and reorganization. It is a process of un-layering to find and work with the root cause(s) of what ails the body, mind, and spirit in order to work with blockages in the overall respiration and flow of the system as a whole.
Your practitioner will ask you general health questions prior to your session. Please let your practitioner know if you are under a doctor's care for any health condition and if you are on any medications as it's suggested that you speak to your doctor prior to receiving any body work.
What to expect after your session?
Although it's subtle in technique it is a profoundly deep body therapy that could leave you feeling energized, relaxed and pain free; or it could feel like you've ran a marathon after your session. You could feel tired or sore so self care is encouraged! It's recommended to drink lots of water, eat good food, get out in nature, and engage in bilateral movement like walking to integrate the work. Rest is always recommended in order to heal. Please regulate yourself and go slow through out the week as the therapy you received can keep working and integrating for days after your session.
